Become a Registered Yoga Teacher
| The
Yoga Alliance is a group of senior yoga teachers who have answered
this need by creating standards that set forth minimum, voluntary
training parameters for teachers and teacher training schools. These
standards allow for the diversity of the modern yoga community. Teachers
who meet these standards have a well-rounded background in the breadth
and depth of yoga. Upon demonstration of qualifications via an application
process, approved teachers and schools are registered with Yoga Alliance
and listed on the organization’s website. |

Yoga Yoga Teacher
Training is recognized by the Yoga Alliance as a training program that
meets or exceeds these standards. We are an approved 200-hour and
500-hour Registered Yoga School (RYS) through Yoga Alliance. Our 200-hour
programs in Hatha and Kundalini Yoga qualify participants to be recognized
as a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Our Advanced Studies
Program allows teachers to qualify for 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher
(RYT-500) status. Students who complete our Teacher Training program are
well-qualified to teach yoga in the eyes of the Yoga Alliance. Upon completion
of 200 hours of training at Yoga Yoga each student receives a completion
certificate showing that she has met the Yoga Alliance standards to become
a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) in the 200-hour category.
Registered Yoga Teachers
(RYT) receive recognition for their background, experience and training
through the registry on the Yoga Alliance website. The registry issues
Registry Marks for enrolled teachers to use in their resumes, advertising
and business endeavors, and authorizes them to use the initials "RYT"
after their name. The list of registered teachers’ names will be advertised
and promoted to the general public, to organizations that employ yoga
teachers (i.e. yoga studios, athletic clubs, recreation departments, etc.),
and to organizations that are beginning to review yoga teachers' credentials
(hospitals, health insurance companies, governmental organizations, etc.).
Yoga Alliance is working to establish long-term mutually beneficial relationships
with these organizations to facilitate the acceptance and support of yoga
teachers as professionals in the modern world.
