Becoming
a great yoga teacher first requires that you become a great student.
You must learn to both follow and give instructions. You need to
understand and practice the foundations of yoga before you can teach
others.
In this comprehensive
200-hour training course for beginning yoga teachers, you will learn
how to teach yoga by developing your practice and relationship to
yoga. You will learn the rules, the basic teaching concepts, the
fundamental techniques all teachers must know, and most importantly
you will begin to know yourself.
Choose from our new Hatha
Yoga Evening Program (1 year), Hatha
Yoga Intensive Programs (3-4 weeks), or our ongoing Hatha Yoga
Training Program (6 months).
You will gain
the confidence to clearly instruct others in the practice of yoga
as you develop your own practice skills. You will discover not only
the "how" of yoga but the "why." Each day, you
will participate in an asana clinic that makes the teaching of yoga
come alive in a practical and personally beneficial way.
You will learn
to safely instruct students in asana and pranayama through a good
working knowledge of both functional western anatomy and yogic anatomy.
Teaching yoga is both an exact science and a creative art and you
will learn both its ancient techniques and its modern applications.
The course is
specifically designed to begin with the fundamentals of yoga and
to lay a lifelong foundation for its study and practice. It is the
first step for any yoga teacher, regardless of interest in a specific
style or approach, and the beginning of a new way to relate to yourself
and the practice of yoga.
