SPEAKER SERIES FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS PRACTITIONERS AT
YOGA YOGA CONTINUES WITH AYURVEDIC DOCTOR ROBERT SVOBODA
Friday, March 26, 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Yoga Yoga Westgate
Austin, Texas (March 10, 2004) - Ayurvedic Doctor Robert Svoboda will address
conventional, alternative, and complementary medicine providers at Yoga Yoga
Westgate, 4477 South Lamar Boulevard, on Friday, March 26 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
in part two of a series designed to educate heatlh and wellness practitioners
about the value and science of yoga. This event is by invitation only. Those

Svoboda's presentation is entitled Ayurveda and Yoga for Increased Health and
Well-Being. According to Svoboda, "Ayurveda is a truly holistic way to
optimize the physical body, just as yoga is meant to optimize the spirit. Together,
with ancient sciences, yoga and ayurveda can harmonize your spirit, body, and
mind and create a persistent state of well-being."
About the Speaker Series
"The Science of Yoga: A Resource for Health and Wellness Practitioners"
is a new speaker series at Yoga Yoga aimed at educating health and wellness
practitioners about the science and value of yoga. The series, which features
experts in the fields of health, wellness, and yoga, allows participants to
explore the relationship between Western medical science and yoga. Speakers
address the latest research studies regarding yoga and discuss practical applications
of yoga for conventional, alternative, and complementary medicine providers.
About Dr. Robert Svoboda
Robert Svoboda is the first Westerner ever to graduate from a college of Ayurveda
(in 1980) and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. Dr. Svoboda lived in
India from 1973-80 and 1982-86 and since 1985 has traveled the world lecturing,
consulting, teaching, and writing. The author of 11 books thus far, he serves
as adjunct faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute, Albuquerque, NM, and Bastyr University,
Kenmore, WA.
