Astrology and Yoga with Mehtab

July 18 - July 19

In ancient India, the yogis were masters of the three sister sciences: Yoga, Ayurveda (Healing), and Jyotish (Astrology). The yoga teachers taught their students these three sciences together to aid in their development and transformation.

Ayurveda was used to help heal the physical body while Jyotish (astrology) was used to guide the seeker on their spiritual journey. Jyotish (literally meaning "the science of light") was especially helpful in understanding each person's purpose in life, what they need to work on and fulfill, when they needed to take the next step of their journey, and what yogic techniques and methods would be especially useful to practice based upon their karmas and destiny.

Each person has a unique physical, psychological and psychic makeup as revealed in their astrological birth chart. Through the science of astrology, you can use your gifts to overcome challenges and realize opportunities in your own yoga practice.

We will explore the beautiful and rich Indian Tantric tradition that uses mantra as an integral component of yoga, meditation and prayer.

The Sanskrit word "mantra" itself means "an instrument of reflection" and "a thought that saves". We can trace humanity's spiritual origins to the idea of the sacred "Word", an idea that has permeated and guided the evolution of all sacred traditions, molding society and culture.

Learn to experience the transformative power of sound and learn how to attune your ears to the sacred healing power of the Cosmos.

October 23 - October 25

After more than two decades of studying and teaching yoga, Mirka Kraftsow has crafted her own unique approach to the yogic arts. Rather than simply focusing on each area of practice as a separate entity, Mirka's philosophy is comprehensive; all aspects of practice – physical, mental, psychological, and spiritual – are addressed in each practice session. Mirka believes this creates not only a balanced practice, but also a balanced life.

Mirka is gifted with both the capacity and the passion to creatively communicate and work in private consultation, both in person and on the telephone, and her work has enriched the experience of students of many yoga modalities all around the world. In this weekend of events, Mirka will use her extensive background to integrate body awareness and imagery with the Viniyoga principles.

iRest Yoga Nidra Training with Richard Miller

November 8 - November 13

For Health, Healing and Awakening

Yoga Yoga is proud to host Richard Miller for a 6 night, 5 day iRest training at the beautiful Balcones Springs Retreat Center in Marble Falls, Texas. Participants will not only receive 42 hours of some of the most valuable yoga training available, but will also be able to spend 5 days at a retreat center sprawled over 250 acres of lakeside Texas Hill Country.

Integrative Restoration (iRest) is a profoundly transformative practice that leads to lasting psychological, physical and spiritual healing. iRest enables you to experience unshakable peace, during even your most difficult times. It accomplishes this through 1) the release of long-held negative emotions and beliefs that give rise to self-destructive patterns and 2) the embodiment of pure awareness, so that you may live a contented life, free of conflict, anxiety, fear, dissatisfaction and suffering. In its ultimate form the practice is a direct pointer to your recognition of absolute freedom-your underlying true nature.
